Hyflex is a teaching modality that allows face-to-face and distance-education students to interact in the same session. This model was implemented as of 2022-1 when the government allowed face-to-face classes in schools and universities to resume.
UPC’s HyFlex initiative is based on an online session to be conducted onto the Virtual Classroom ecosystem, including synchronous sessions through Blackboard Collaborate. In addition, the class is taught in a classroom with both face-to-face and distance- education students who connect simultaneously.
UPC has implemented 72 classrooms equipped with HyFlex in its 4 sites. Faculty members have undergone a certification process in order to teach in said classrooms. Eleven programs will use this modality this term.
