After two years of working with faculty members on playful tools in order to incorporate them into the students’ academic activities, UPC finally implemented the Minecraft Education platform in 2019. Several workshops were conducted in order to enrich the experience of students who learn by playing. See below some highlights:

  • Minecraft Education workshops aimed at UPC’s faculty members so as to learn how to use the tool and incorporate it into their courses.
  • Club Apptitud is offered every academic term and is aimed at UPC students who must solve a challenge using design thinking in Minecraft Education. Club Apptitud lasts 10 weeks.
  • End-of-Term Fair was implemented to respond to the need to socialize in times of the pandemic, so that students can interact, share and have fun in a different way in a virtual world. It is held at the end of the final exams.
  • UPC’s Design Week Fair: Exquisite Corpse event on Minecraft Education. Students came together to create intertwined structures. https://innovacioneducativa.upc.edu.pe/2021/10/11/vive-la-semana-del-diseno-en-minecraft-education/
